Thyme Vulgaris (also called Common Thyme, or German Thyme) is a kitchen staple for much of the world, adding a fresh flavor to savory dishes. Thyme has also been used as a medicinal herb around the world touting anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal properties.
How To Grow: Start indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost date. Seeds like warm soil to germinate, a heated seed mat can help expedited seed germination. Seeds can be directly sown after danger of frost has passed. Thin each plant down to 6” apart and keep well-watered until germination occurs. Plants are drought hardy once established. Flowers serve as a favorite bee and butterfly food, or can be cut off to promote more leaf growth during the growing season.
