Every month we send you something to plant that fills 32 square feet of garden space—the equivalent of a 4 × 8 raised bed. You can plant it all in one bed, use pots/containers, or spread it throughout different areas of your yard that add up to 32 square feet. By staggering your planting each month, your flowers will bloom continuously throughout the growing season.

Every climate box experience is a little different but all will include a variety of annuals and perennials which arrive as small plants, bulbs, tubers, rhizomes, corms or seeds. Occasionally we will send you seed packets to scatter and direct sow but we will never have you grow seeds indoors or send you seeds that you have to carefully germinate. The box is designed for efficiency and low time commitment on the planting side.

Along with each box you’ll first receive an email with a save-able PDF that will tell you exactly what you are receiving that month with quick simple step by step instructions of how to plant it. We will also include more in depth information about that plant and how to be successful growing and maintaining it. Also provided will be tips and to do’s items for maintaining, arranging and caring for what you had previously planted. We guide you every step of the way as you grow your flower garden.

Each month it can vary slightly based on supplier constraints. We are committed to quality and because we have a live product we are sometimes subject to when the product is freshest and can be properly shipped as well as weather factors. The instructional part will be sent via email the first week of every month so that you have it before your box arrives.

You need to know your climate. You can find out yours by typing the following question into an AI search engine or chat box: “What Koppen climate is the zip code (enter your zip code)” You will enter your climate classification at checkout and your Halden flower box will be customized to your climate. We will send you only plants that grow in your region and will send them at the right planting time for you.

You will need about 32 square feet of soil that gets at least 5 hours of sun a day. This is the equivalent of a 4 x 8 area. You can grow in a raised bed, pots or in the ground. You could plant in various places around your yard if you want or you could have one dedicated place for your flower garden.

You’ll also need a water source. This could be as simple as a watering can or hose. Of course you can also use sprinklers or drip irrigation. We will give you custom watering instructions as part of your monthly information page.

It might surprise you but cut flower gardening is a year round hobby that follows the seasonal cadence created by nature. For this reason you can start anytime of the year and cancel anytime.
