Catnip is a hardy, bushy perennial plant with a strong scent and blue-violet flowers that bloom on blue-green foliage. This plant will re-seed even in dry conditions and can tolerate drought. Catnip is commonly grown by cat owners for their pets, and the dried leaves are often used as a stuffing for cat playthings. The herb is native to Eurasia and is used as a seasoning and as a medicinal tea for colds and fever.

Early-Season Seeding: Start seed indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost and transplant after the danger of frost has passed. Direct seed outdoors after the danger of frost has passed.

Growing Tips: Plants readily reseed and should be deadheaded to prevent spread.
