Arugula Organic
Heat Sensitive
Eruca sativa
Arugula is a cold tolerant leafy green with fiery flavor, adaptable to be grown in sun or shade depending on the season. Arugula prefers fertile, well draining soil with a pH of 6.0-6.8. Can be grown year round in most climates as the flavor actually improves with colder temperatures. Flowers are also edible and are great as a garnish. Best grown by direct seeding outdoors in 2-3 week intervals for a continual harvest. The heat of the summer may cause bolting which can be prevented by planting in a shadier location (under a cucumber trellis) and by consistent watering.
