Soil Science

Soil can be challenging, and wherever you are growing, the soil can vary dramatically by surprisingly short distances. In this post, Maegen instructs on some basic soil principles so you know what you’re looking at once you break ground and are ready to plant. You’ll learn about soil constitution, how water moves through different types of soils, how to perform a ribbon test of your soil to determine its constitution, how to amend your soil, and more.

Maegen has a Master’s Degree in Horticulture from Utah State University and has always proven to be a constantly reliable source of technical, yet understandable, garden knowledge.
